Thanks everyone... We are very excited and even though the world of "sisters" is foreign to me (as far as growing up with a biological one) I hope to follow the wonderful example so many of you have set so far in fostering the love between sisters in your children... I confess, my first thought of sisters is/was not a positive one (I was actually glad to not have a sister growing up because of all bad impressions I had of them being cruel to each other and always fighting...) and I am thankful to have such an amazing brother so I didn't have to deal with the negative side of sisterhood. But be assured, I'm not thinking that has to be the case, and will probably be probing you for wisdom and advice as the years go by! Sarah is just so excited and crazy for babies, I can't imagine (right now) that she will be anything but ga-ga over this new little lady... Sharing me, however, will be the challenge, and my hope is to really make sure I'm giving her as much "Mommy time" as I can spare so she doesn't feel abandoned or "replaced" so to speak...
On another note, last night we went to the Marysville Christmas parade in "downtown" Marysville... I would describe it as "cute" as far as small town parades go... The typical Scout troupes with leaders walking down a stretch of State street singing and waving, the mayor, hot rods all tricked out with neon lights and reving engines, the random tow trucks who were also advertising/decorated in lights, police, and to finish it off, Santa and Mrs. Claus in the bucket of the fire truck's ladder. Sarah loved it. She had her first candy cane and was sassy enough to tell me that she bit it off even though I had told her to just lick it! I think we lost one mitten, and had a good time... Forgot the camera - doh!

Allright...you call MARYSVILLE a small town? Girl you ain't seen nothing (Well actually, you have, since you've been to BLAINE). :) You guys should come to Blaine for the 4th of July and REALLY witness a small town parade! :)
I'm glad you guys had fun & thanks for posting about it. I'm thankful we're here, but am missing all of the holiday fun that we're used to. And... you're such a good mom, you'll do great sheparding two little princsses. We can figure sisterhood out together.... miss you guys lots!
Congratulations on your new baby girl! My sister and I are best friends. I feel so blessed to have a sister. I know they Lord will give you much wisdom and grace in this new adventure!!
My sister and I are very close...my brother and I ..now thats another story...but sisters are amazing!
It sounds like you had a great time at the parade. It is great that Sarah can be assertive and tell you what she did with her candy cane. It shows that she is innocent and secure in her momma's love too.
Sounds like Sarah enjoyed the parade-that's what counts, right? (That's what I tell myself when we attend the Norwegian parage every year in May-parades are not my thing.)
You'll be a great mom to two sisters. Sisters are awesome-I have three myself.
Sisters are awesome. My sister and I had our troubles through the years, but are great friends now. The cool thing about sisters is that you can be completely vulnerable and honest with them. You can lose a friend, but a sister will always be a sister. My sister knows all the ugly things about me, but she loves me anyway.
